Changing Lives from the Inside Out

October 13, 2025

At ORA, our mentoring/boot camp is more than just a program, it’s a life-changing experience.

At ORA, our mentoring Boot Camp is more than just a program, it’s a transformational journey that reshapes lives from the inside out.

We don’t simply prepare young men for the skilled trades, we prepare them for life. Every session is designed to challenge the way participants think, act, and see themselves. Through guided reflection, honest conversations, and real-world lessons, we help them dismantle negative thought patterns, rebuild self-belief, and develop the mental strength required to take ownership of their futures.

Our mentoring Boot Camp is unique because it combines structure, accountability, and compassion. We teach the value of discipline, showing up on time, putting in the effort, and following through, while reinforcing that these same principles lead to long-term success in any aspect of life. Participants learn to take responsibility for their choices, communicate effectively, and set meaningful goals that align with who they want to become.

What truly sets the ORA Boot Camp apart is the mentorship itself. Every participant is guided by individuals who have walked similar paths, people who understand the barriers, the setbacks, and the power of second chances. These mentors model perseverance, integrity, and professionalism, offering a living example of what’s possible when hard work meets opportunity.

The impact is undeniable. Young men emerge with renewed confidence, a stronger sense of purpose, and the tools to navigate both personal and professional challenges. They leave not only ready to enter the trades, but ready to lead, as fathers, partners, coworkers, and community builders.

At ORA, we don’t just change careers, we help change lives. And that’s what makes our mentoring Boot Camp one of the most important and meaningful parts of the work we do.

Under the leadership of Premier Doug Ford’s government, Ontario is building a workforce that is strong, skilled, and reflective of our province’s diversity. A workforce where youth from marginalized communities can access real careers, earn real wages, and contribute to a prosperous Ontario.

At The ORA, we believe knowledge and training are the first steps toward independence and empowerment. When you learn a skill, you’re not just gaining a job. You’re discovering options.

Today, our clients had the incredible opportunity to hear from Mr. Jack Oliveira, Business Manager of LiUNA Local 183, a leader who has lived the journey, earned the respect, and built a legacy through hard work and loyalty. His message was simple, strong, and unforgettable: “You can sleep when you’re dead.”

Training isn’t about getting everything right the first time. It’s about showing up, trying, failing, learning, and coming back stronger the next day.

In the skilled trades, success starts long before the first tool hits the ground. It begins with showing up, early, prepared, and ready to work. Being on time isn’t just about the clock; it’s about respect, for yourself, your crew, and the craft you’re building.

In the skilled trades, every day brings something real. You can see the results of your effort — a wall built, a room finished, a foundation laid strong and steady. That’s pride. That’s purpose.
